JOB TITLE: Renewable Energy Systems Engineer - Intern
REPORTS TO: Manager, Engineering
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly
PAY RANGE: $12-$16/hr
POSITION SUMMARY: Colite Technologies delivers a portfolio of environmentally friendly solutions supporting corporate sustainability goals and objectives. The portfolio includes solar-wind-storage renewable hybrid power systems for various off-grid and grid-tied applications and LED retrofits for indoor and outdoor, commercial and industrial lighting. Colite Technologies is seeking interns to support the rapid growth of the business. This position will support design drafting activities, renewable power system modeling, and lighting analysis and design activities within the Engineering Department. The position will be part-time during the academic semesters to possibly full-time during holidays and breaks.
Model renewable power system applications and geographical locations for hybrid renewable systems using Helioscope and Homer software applications.
Perform Photometric design tasks related to lighting applications using DIALux
Support completion of design drawing packages for both R&D and Customer order activities leveraging Solidworks 3D design software.
Support manufacturing activities as necessary to implement project specific designs or as necessary to get shipments released.
Interest in or specific experience designing and deploying renewable power systems
Classwork associated with renewable power systems preferred
Familiarity or direct experience with various software applications related to the job activities
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & DETAILS:
Rising Junior or Senior in Electrical Engineering
Excellent analytical skills
Strong command of Microsoft Office suite of products
Solidworks, Helioscope, or Homer experience a plus
Ability to pick up additional computer skills levering various software platforms
Strong work ethic with self-starting approach to work
